This post is related to some of our March articles related to ladder safety. Before you ever climb your ladder, take time to inspect it. As part of the inspection, look over all the ladder parts.

Look over the entire ladder. For extension ladders, take a look at the ladder hooks and all the extension ladder accessories, including the ladder rope.

For all ladders, look over the ladder feet, rails and rungs.

Look over all the parts of the ladder, and if the ladder fails any part of the inspection, take it out of service until you are able to get the ladder replaced. If the ladder is so damaged that it cannot be replaced, then destroy the ladder so nobody can use it.
