MARCH IS NATIONAL LADDER SAFETY MONTH

Projects can be unpredictable and full of unique challenges, but safe ladder use shouldn't be a guessing game. When safety isn't a priority, the consequences are real: in 2020, ladder-related accidents led to 161 fatalities and 22,710 injuries on the job. (Source: CDC)

But those numbers are preventable. When teams know how to properly set up their ladder and climb with caution, they prevent serious accidents--protecting lives and keeping the work on schedule.

That's why Little Giant is a proud participant in National Ladder Safety Month.

About the American Ladder Institute (ALI)

The mission of the American Ladder Institute (ALI) is to promote the safe use of ladders as well as advance the common business interests of our members through a commitment to:

  • Development and dissemination of appropriate standards.
  • Education of the public as to the proper selection, care and safe use of ladders
  • Representation of the interests of its members

ALI is a not-for-profit association dedicated to promoting safe ladder use. ALI is composed of members from the United States and Canada who manufacture ladders and/or ladder components. ALI is the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-approved developer of ladder safety standards. Standards are technical specifications, developed and tested by subject experts, which prescribe rules governing the safety construction, design, testing, care, and use of various types of ladders.

ALI also offers a free, on-demand ladder safety training program. This training is a tool for the proper selection, care, and safe use of all ladders, including stepladders, single and extension ladders, articulated ladders, and mobile ladders. Get started today to earn your ladder safety certificate!

ALI was founded in 1947 and has evolved to fit the needs of its membership as the industry has changed. Construction materials and processes have developed according to changes in usage, duty ratings, and industry need.
