The best part about the Little Giant multi-position ladders is that it accomplishes multiple tasks with one ladder. Set up the Dark Horse in A-frame, extension, 90-degree, staircase and trestle-and-plank* positions, for a versatile, easy climbing experience.
Not every worksite has level ground. With the optional Ratchet™ levelers, you can ensure that your ladder is stable before you start climbing.
Made from durable, non-conductive fiberglass, this ladder is ideal for most jobs. It also features a wide-flared base for increased side-tip stability to prevent falls from accidental overreaching.
The Dark Horse meets or exceeds all OSHA and ANSI standards. It is available as a IA 300 lb. rated ladder, and it is also available as a 13’ IAA ladder rated to hold 375 lbs.

im a custom drapery and window shades installer for 35yrs .i have had little giant ladders for the past 27yrs or so they are the best investments i have made on ladders i currently own 12 ladders in my arsenal to install high window treatments and hard to reach areas
My wife wanted one of the Little Giant ladders for Christmas. I bought the Dark Horse model because it's a bit lighter and has wheels. Since my wife is pretty petite, I felt it was the best choice. Truth be told, anytime she wants to use it, I have to get it and set it up, but still, she loves that she can climb up on top and take the decorations off our quite tall Christmas tree. And she feels perfectly secure sitting atop the ladder. The wheels are kind of useless in our house, given the number of twists and turns, as well as level changes, it takes to get from the garage to any room in the house. We do love how easy and intuitive it is to make ladder adjustments, and then how small of a footprint it takes up in the garage once we put it away.

I've had my ladder approximately 1 month and use it everywhere I go.I'm a sub-contractor, and have never found another ladder that even compares.This ladder is the safest ladder I've ever used.I recommend them to everyone.I have been in the business for many many years and have never found a ladder that was so versatile.I am 100% satisfied with my order and will continue to be a customer of Little Giant for a very long time.
Size refers to the ANSI definition of length. ANSI states that the size is defined by the combined length of all rail sections, with a tolerance of +/-3” on each section. Note, this does not take into account any overlap between sliding sections like those on an extension or multi-purpose ladder. This can cause a disparity in the size of the ladder versus the actual height. To determine which ladder you need, Little Giant recommends you reference maximum reach height instead of size.
The terminology for ladder duty ratings, grades, and types can sometimes be confusing. The ladder's duty rating is the maximum safe load capacity of that ladder according to ANSI standards. There are 3 types of ratings that Little Giant offers:
Type I - Made to handle everyday projects. Has a load capacity of 250 lbs.
Type IA- Designed with durability and regular use in mind. Has a load capacity of 300 lbs.
Type IAA- Built for professional performance and rugged use. Has a load capacity of 375 lbs.
Ladder specifications can be confusing due to safety regulation requirements. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), the ladder size is defined as the total length of each section and does not account for overlap on extension ladders. As a result, the overlapping sections reduce the total length of the ladder. When purchasing any ladder customers should pay particular attention to the maximum reach to ensure the correct product for the job.
