Utah Entrepreneur Gives Back

April 27, 2011- After six years of planning and a year of construction, UVU’s Hal Wing
Track and Field Complex is open to student athletes. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be
held Thursday April 28th at 4pm.
Hal Wing, Little Giant Ladder Systems’ founder and major sponsor of the $1.5 million
project, has been invited to start the festivities.
“I am proud to be a part of this project,” said Wing. “

UVU is a great educational asset to our community. College athletics, especially track and field events, teach students selfdiscipline, hard work, and perseverance. I believe these characteristics lead to success in business. I look forward to seeing these outstanding student athletes grow and excel
in this new facility.”
The change comes after many years of coordinating practices with a local high school
said Scott Houle, UVU Head Coach. “Our athletes are extremely excited and grateful to
have a facility that is on our campus and built to meet their needs. This state-of-the-art
facility will eliminate any disadvantage we may have experienced due to the lack of a
training facility.”
Also praising the addition, UVU President Matthew S. Holland said, “This first-rate track
and field facility will help UVU students have a well-rounded university experience. We
would like to thank Hal and Brigitte Wing for their generosity. This field will stand as a
symbol of the great contribution the Wings have made to UVU and Utah County.”

About Hal Wing and Little Giant Ladders Systems
Thirty years ago, Hal Wing met a German inventor who showed him “a new kind of
ladder”. Recognizing this innovative ladder as a product that could take the place of
ordinary ladders, Wing began to import and sell them at fairs and trade shows. Since its
humble beginning in the Wing’s home garage, Little Giant Ladder Systems has
continued to upgrade its product line. Wing Enterprises now holds worldwide patents
and trademarks on many innovations in ladder design and manufacturing, distributing to
homeowners, professionals and businesses throughout the world. Little Giant Ladder
Systems is still a “little family business” with sons, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and
grandchildren helping throughout the worldwide company.
