Unlike most lightweight, compact platform stepladders, which are usually engineered for light residential use, the Little Giant AirWing Fiberglass stepladder is engineered to be a safe, highly mobile platform option for tradesmen and industrial professionals. The lightweight, non-conductive fiberglass AirWing opens easily from a 3” storage profile, yet its patent-pending pivoting steps offer comfortable 4.5-inch treads on each rung, with a very spacious, comfortable standing platform at the top. With a lightweight, slim profile and heavy-duty construction, the AirWing is the perfect safe, yet portable climbing solution for any jobsite.
The AirWing Fiberglass Stepladder is available in 4, 5, 6, and 8-foot sizes and has earned a Type IAA – 375-lbs special duty ANSI rating.

Size refers to the ANSI definition of length. ANSI states that the size is defined by the combined length of all rail sections, with a tolerance of +/-3” on each section. Note, this does not take into account any overlap between sliding sections like those on an extension or multi-purpose ladder. This can cause a disparity in the size of the ladder versus the actual height. To determine which ladder you need, Little Giant recommends you reference maximum reach height instead of size.
The terminology for ladder duty ratings, grades, and types can sometimes be confusing. The ladder's duty rating is the maximum safe load capacity of that ladder according to ANSI standards. There are 3 types of ratings that Little Giant offers:
Type I - Made to handle everyday projects. Has a load capacity of 250 lbs.
Type IA- Designed with durability and regular use in mind. Has a load capacity of 300 lbs.
Type IAA- Built for professional performance and rugged use. Has a load capacity of 375 lbs.
Ladder specifications can be confusing due to safety regulation requirements. According to ANSI (American National Standards Institute), the ladder size is defined as the total length of each section and does not account for overlap on extension ladders. As a result, the overlapping sections reduce the total length of the ladder. When purchasing any ladder customers should pay particular attention to the maximum reach to ensure the correct product for the job.

We are very impressed with the AirWing ladder! It is great to have something between the size of a tall step stool and a regular stepladder. There are many more storage options than for a regular stepladder, and it is much easier to move from the storage place to where it will be used. The comfortable and secure handle is a great thing to have. The AirWing is very easy to move around. It is very sturdy, and it is easy to use. The safety features are very much appreciated. Not to short, not to tall. Great for my indoor projects. I like the wide steps, and the platform. also the tool holder and tray is very helpful. Very light and easy to handle.

This ladder is exactly what she needed. It is light weight and and yet tall enough to allow her to reach top shelves in kitchens and closets. The top deck and stabilizing bar allows her to maintain balance when she is looking up and needs two hands for the task. The AirWing is a home run that still hasn't landed.
